What is the BP definition of Healing?

At the Balance Point, we define healing as one of two things:

the process of adjusting to growth in a way that brings one into deeper alignment with one's authentic life path, or

the general maintenance process of realignment and restoration of balance and ease.

It is important to note, that neither of these aspects of healing are seen as a response to something being "wrong". Rather, in both cases, we see healing as a healthy part of the natural life process, whether it is an act of healthy maintenance or an invitation to growth and transformation.

What creates the Need for Healing?

The need for healing is created by two different types of circumstances:

Growth-Anytime you, or simply the process of life, pushes you into new experiences where you have to develop new ways of doing things, or new levels of strength, a healing process is initiated. Even, at the end of everyday, when we go to sleep, we are essentially "healing" from the day, taking all of our new experiences and integrating them. If you have any done any physical work developing your muscles, you will learn that, in a sense when you work them, you are slightly traumatizing them...and if you give them ample time to rest, they will heal from the "trauma" and increase your muscle strenght and capacity. As such, healing is a natural part of the process of growth.

Trauma-Sometimes we have experiences that force us to "grow" quicker than we can possibly handle in the moment. In such occassions we don't have the mental, emotional, physical or spiritual resources to take in whatever experience or experiences are coming to us. We then end up carrying this system overload in some kind of imbalance or sense of being "broken" in some way, be it mentally, spiritually, emotionally or physically.  In these situations, healing addresses woundedness, be it emotional, physical or spiritual, helping you to adjust to those earlier shifts at a time in the present when you can finally integrate them in a way that brings you into alignment with your most authentic path.

What is the Difference between Healing and Curing?

Healing is about realignment with one's soul's path. It has no predetermined outcome. Curing is about fixing something that is seen to be broken, so it has a predetermined outcome. Healing addresses things at the spiritual, emotional and energetic roots, having to do with the larger picture of how everything is interconnected. In addressing these roots, it effects one's physical state as well, oftentimes creating similar results at that level as the curing approach.

Curing addresses a specific issue, system or symptom regardless of its role in the larger picture of the integrated whole. Curing approaches can be very helpful in the short term, immediate circumstances to keep oneself functional in order to be able to go through a healing process. Frequently, even if you cure something, there is still healing to do. If the healing work is not done, oftentimes the issue will rise up again, if even in a different way, until the core issues have been addressed.

What is the Result of Healing?

During this process of healing, one realigns with the highest alignment of one's soul. As such, the results of healing have no particular outcome, but rather, whatever outcome will lead you into greatest alignment with your truest path. In this sense, even illness, major life transitions and even death can be the result of successful healing, if that is in fact the next place of alignment for your path. That said, healing usually results in a restoration of health, relaxation and relief, spiritually, physically, emotionally and in your general life balance.

Empathic Healing:

Empathic Healing is the name we give to a combination of elements, listed below, each of which can be received separately and exclusively of the others. When used in combination, they create a potent transformational experience.

Empathic Touch:

Empathic Touch is a form of hands-on energy work that creates an experience of relaxation, stress relief, emotional release, spontaneous insight, pain relief and personal transformation. Like most forms of energy work it is received fully clothed, either laying down or sitting, and is executed with light touches on the body or just above the body.

One of the benefits of a pure empathic touch session is the opportunity to receive healing in a passive state. You simply relax, and receive.

Guided Meditation/Body Journeying:

Guided Meditation, or what we often call, Body Journeying, is a more interactive approach to your own experience of healing, putting you directly in touch with your ability to heal from within yourself. In essence, you will be guided into conversation with your own body, soul, psyche and inner guidance that results in realignment with your authentic self, release of any energies, emotions or mindsets that no longer serve you and a connection to inner guidance and answers moving forward in your life. The experience can be as gentle or potent as you yourself want to go and the results are deep and long lasting.

Intuitive Reading:

During an Intuitive Reading, Julie will listen to receive intuitive messages from your body, energy and soul regarding anything in your energy or life that needs to be seen, heard, felt or understood in order to move into deeper alignment with yourself.

Empathic Channeling:

Empathic Channeling is the process of clearing the blocked energies or emotions of one person through the vessel of an external person or "channel". An empathic person is someone who has the ability to feel the feelings of another as if they were their own, thereby enabling them to release the stuck energies of another through themselves. It is like a release valve to an overloaded system. Empathic Channeling sessions often leave the recipient feeling lighter, cleaner and more able to move forward on their own path of growth and healing.

Though Empathic Channeling also offers the benefit of a more passive form of receiving, a pure empathic channeling session is, in some ways, the most intense of the offerings.  Though it is physically and emotionally very low key for the recipient, experientially, the expressions of the channel as the energy moves through them can be quite intense, which can be a powerful and sometimes strange thing to witness. Therefore, pure empathic channeling sessions are most appropriate for those comfortable witnessing intensive emotional display.
